Manuel Mena vs. Javier Basurto - Sep / 06 / 2023 Didn't deal with the pressure of basurto very well. He tried to counter him to get respect but he kept his back to the cage and wasnt moving very much. Throws check left hook pretty often but it doesn't look like it has that much impact because he doesn't put his body into it. Nice single leg in round 1, struggled with basurtos bjj at first but once he got him to the cage he landed some decent ground and pount. However, basurto was able to use the cage to get to his feet and mena failed the matt return and got reversed. His takedown defense is good, but gets held on the cage. Again it feels like wrestling is his best attribute. resorted to brawling once his opponent was tired in r3, he got tired after 1 min of heavy swinging though. Manuel Mena vs. Eduardo Cajal - Mar / 16 / 2023 Likes to stay at range and throw kicks/close distance with a 2 punch combo. Looks like he gets a bit uncomfortable when opponents pressure him but he throws some wilds hook counters to try and punish them for it. Also times takedown nicely when his opponent closed the distance. He's pretty stiff on the feet and not incredibly technical. His main upside is that he throws haymakers so if he connects clean he can probably hurt his opponents. His wrestling is probably his strongest attribute but Cajal has good takedown defense.
