His striking is a bit basic. His best asset on the feet is his evasive footwork and calf kick. Where he really shines is his grappling though and he has nice body lock takedowns. Gets body triangle in and eventually parker escapes the body triangle by getting his back to the matt, shelley switches to top control and parker wrestles up. Shelly throws some jabs at distance and a naked calf kick which gets him countered. He lands some counters as parker corners him but for the most part circles out. likes to throws left hook on the exit a lot but it doesnt look that fast or powerful. He circles out a lot to his left when his opponent attacks. shelley gets a body lock takedown, parker gets to his knees and shelley takes the back. parker wrestles up and shelley threatens a d'arce but parker broke the hands and pushed him to the cage. he tries a terrible td and ends up on bottom. parker in half guard but shelley gets butterfly guard and uses it to get up. more clinching and parker lands some elbows and pushes him to the cage. Ryan Shelley vs. Jordy Bakkes - Oct / 14 / 2023 shelley landing some jabs and calf kicks. throws a 1,2 that lands nicely and shoots a slow double leg that gets stuffed. Hes throwing some more jabs and calf kicks at distance, evading most of the attacks from bakkes. bakkes gets aggressive and lands some left hooks, gets a nice takedown and starts landing some ground and pound. passes to half guard and threatens an arm triangle choke but shelley escapes and gets back to range. does some more point striking. bakks gets a single leg and ends up in half guard after a scramble. has top position for a while but eventually shelley gets to his knees and gets up, he exposed his back but i dont think bakkes has the bjj to take advantage of that. shelley attempts a terrible td and ends up on bottom, gets arm triangle choked.
