im really impressed with his wrestling and grappling. his striking is serviceable but his striking defense is not great. Devon Dixon vs. Bruce Whitehead - Feb / 04 / 2024 Good distance management and footwork to start the fight. popping the jab out nicely and nice right hand counter when his opponent got too aggressive. His opponent is clearly not a great striker but has a lot of heart and is attempting to just walk him down and land. Good defense from dixon though and gets a body lock takedown. He does keep his hands low which gets him cracked a few times but he eats it well. Keeps trying to shoot takedowns but gets stuffed. really nice kicks, fast high kick and body kick. tall mans defense. Now hes getting walked down and peiced up as he circles along the cage. Not dealing with the pressure of bruce well anymore. same thing happening in round 2 but dixon gets a nice body lock takedown and arm triangle choke. bruce rotates out of it and dixon takes his back, locks in a body lock and a nice RNC. Devon Dixon vs. Richie Miranda - Apr / 08 / 2022 Dixon comes out circling on the cage, gets dropped by an overhand but immediately gets up and gets a body lock takedown. Miranda attacks subs off his back, Dixon defends well and takes mirandas back as he gets to his knees, slips off and has the back grip. drags mirands back to the floor from the back. miranda attacks his leg but dixon is defending and lands some punches, gets the back of miranda again with both hooks in. moving down from welterweight, looks like a big 155er. His chain wrestling looks really effective. Miranda walks him down to start r2 and gets a takedown of his own, gets the back but dixon escapes and works to his feet. circles out and starts walking miranda down, lands some nice strikes and a step back right hand counter, mirands gets a double leg and dixon threatens a guillotine. he attempts to get up and mirands attacks a gilly and uses it to take his back. dixon defends an RNC and gives mount, recovers half guard and tries to shrimp out but mirands flatens him back out. dixon drives out using a single leg. gets on top of mirands with a double leg and lands some ground and pound. passes to side control, lands some more strikes to end r2. dixon circling out and landing some counters as mirands walks him down. gets overwhelmed with the pressure and shoots a nice double leg, but miranda attacks a gilly. dixon escapes the gilly and attempts to take the back, mirands eventually gets up and dixon shoots another double leg. miranda locks in another gilly and dixon looks a bit panicky. although he was almost out of the choke he taps. he was surely winning the fight....
