He's kind of just an all around okay fighter. Hes okay at striking but he lunges into his strikes a lot which leaves him vulnerable to counters. When he gets taken down he seems like a fish out of water and its really difficult for him to get to his feet. His greatest assets are that he's good from top position and he has power. He also slows down as the fight goes on. Tedrick Macklin vs. Ray Cardenas - May / 21 / 2023 Macklin comes out hot throwing. Hes lunging into his strikes. gets clinched against the cage as he overextends. His striking looks powerful but when he attacks he lunges into his strikes heavily and is vulnerable to counters. gets top position from a slip, takes back and locks in a body triangle. Lands some strikes from back position. Cardenas is able to escape and get into top position. macklin keeps guard and controls cardenas posture to end the round. I don't love that he did that instead of working to his feet but it was possibly due to it being the end of the round. attacks an armbar at the last couple seconds. Lunging into his strikes some more and shoots a takedown, goes from a double leg into a body lock trip, both failed but he got the body lock drag down and instantly takes back position. threatens a rnc and flattens him out. Tedrick Macklin vs. Nico Echeverry - Mar / 24 / 2023 Almost the entire fight is macklin defending takedowns on the cage. he lands some good clinch knees and elbows which wins him the fight because all nico is doing is failing takedowns. When nico did get him down in round 2 he was pretty bad at getting back to his feet. nico controlled him for the rest of the round from half guard. ... Read moreShow less
