He's a decent striker with decent power. However, I think he looks best when hes counter striking and he tends not to do so. He likes fighting on the front foot and often overextends swinging wild shots. His offensive wrestling looks really nice and is explosive but it hasn't been utilized against someone with high level TDD so its hard to know for sure. He also got tired from wrestling successfully for 2 rounds so I can't imagine he would be able to last long against someone who could defend some of his takedowns. His takedown defense and get up game is definitely questionable and he doesn't seem to be a great grappler off of his back. He looks uncomfortable and just tries to land some strikes off of his back. His grappling from top position looks decent though. Thomas Paull vs. Dimitry Solimeis - Mar / 30 / 2024 Keeping distance and once his opponent attacked he countered with a nice 2 hook combo. Continues to keep distance and landing calf kicks. Keeps getting hit with the jab though. Gets into a bit of a brawling exchange and gets tagged quite a few times. Stays calm though but keeps getting caught coming in. His opponent is tall and rangy. Shoots a nice double leg with very nice timing. Controls his opponent on the cage and landing some punches while his opponent is working to his feet. Trips the leg out and takes the back, threatens the RNC immediately. Stays on the back landing strikes while his opponent defends. His opponent trys to turn into him and hes wise to it and takes half guard to end the round. He has a nice jab but he keeps trying to lunge in with some hooking combos and getting caught. Gets another double leg much earlier in the 2nd round. lands some elbows and his opp exposes the back to get up, he takes the rear body lock and suplexes him, gets in his guard. His opp seemed to be doing a decent job of framing to create space but he passes to half guard. his opp gets up and he controls rear body lock, gets a nice trip as his opponent framed out. Sets up another TD nicely and gets him down against the cage. His TDs arent as effective in this round, he may be tired . but solemis is defending this round and landing counters when paull lunges in. Paull gets a double leg with 1 min left, against the cage though and solemis gets up, he gets him back to the matt with a double leg. Thomas Paull vs Bailey Gilbert - Dec / 03 / 2022 Striking exchange to start. Gilbert gets a double leg and gets him down against the cage. Paull threatens a ninja choke but its not really there and his opp threatens a von flue so he lets it go. Opp is in half guard, lands some strikes off his back and recovers guard. opp lands some big elbows that cuts him open. opp lands some gnp, he gets to his knees to try to get up but he continues to land and pressure him down to end it. ...
